Here’s another interesting addition to the list of hard-hitting, thought-provoking short films on YouTube. After the super success of Sujoy Ghosh’s Ahalya, Large Short Films are back with Jaydeep Sarkar’s Nayantara’s Necklace.
The 20-minute-long film is about two women -- Konkona Sen Sharma and Tolottama Shome -- who live in a metro city. Their lives are entirely different from each other, but there are elements which bind them together. In fact, the common thread is the loneliness they both feel in their respective routines.
Watch: Short film Nayantara’s Necklace
Konkona plays an upper middle class, career woman who knows how to hold a wine glass the right way, or the kind of jewellery that fits an occasion. Tilottama, on the other hand, wants to learn the good things in life from Konkana. However, everything in their life is not as hunky dory as it seems: The two women are fighting their own battles, trying to stay afloat in the darkness that has enveloped their lives. At one point of time, Nayantara’s Necklace will make you question the lifestyle we are aspiring for.
