Highlight Story

The first trailer of Hasee Toh Phasee is out. It stars SOTY hottie Siddharth Malhotra and Parineeti Chopra.

Siddharth plays Nikhil while Parineeti is Meeta in this Vinil Mathew directorial venture.

'Mental' Meeta is as tom-boyish as it gets; she seems to be girl on the run, plays cricket with gully boys, rattles off names of dishes from food joint menu in a jiffy showing the promise for absolute madness.

'Senti' Siddharth is quite unsettled about what he wishes to do in life… he tries his luck at business management for seven years before thinking of cracking IPS! Of course he has better engagements such as eyeing hot chicks! Basically a well-meaning "vella" who feels "yeh mann ki na koi guarantee nahin hoti".

Parineeti is introduced as a crazy Meeta who pursues Nikhil (Siddharth) with a mere hint that he too will trip for her eventually. And there ends the story but with a premise of an unexpected romance between an unusual pair with a crackling chemistry.

Seeing the trailer, one can safely say that fans wouldn't mind enjoying the bubbly Parineeti, 'Meeta-Nikhil' chemistry and wait for more teasers.

Why the director did not want Siddharth-Parineeti to meet?

Director Vinil Matthew did not allow them to meet each other and hang out before the film went on floors. His idea was to not allow them to become familiar before the shoot in order to create the chemistry between the duo as aptly as the script demanded.

Vinil knew that the actors were not close friends in real life and wanted it to show in his film as well. "I think there is a certain kind of tension that you experience when you are not familiar with a person and I wanted that kind of chemistry in my film. Since they were not the best of friends, I wanted to keep that little tension intact. I wished for them to know each other only during the course of shooting," says the director.

Siddharth and Parineeti's workshops were conducted separately. "I had workshops with Parineeti and Sidharth separately for about three weeks. Had the workshops been conducted together, there would have been an obvious comfort between the two which would have ruined the kind of chemistry I wanted in the film," adds Vinil.

Hasee Toh Phasee is set to release on 7th Feb, 2014.
