Irrfan Khan

is one of India’s leading cross-over stars, having acted in several Hollywood films like Slumdog Millionaire (2008), Life Of Pi (2012) and The Amazing Spider-Man (2012). He also has the latest instalment of

Jurassic Park

lined up for release, and will soon begin shooting for director Ron Howard’s next (which also stars

Tom Hanks

), based on a Dan Brown novel.

Surely, with such high-profile international projects under his belt, the actor would be a source of inspiration to many. Ask him how he feels about potentially paving the path for other Indian actors in Hollywood, and he says, "I’m happy that people are getting inspired by the opportunities I am getting there, but I’m not too conscious about it. It’s something I have no control over; getting these roles has been an organic process."

Irrfan feels "the international film fraternity is slowly and steadily becoming aware of Indian actors and technicians, and hopefully, soon enough, we will make a space for ourselves there."

He adds, "We have all the resources, the craft, and the vision required to be there. Our situation has improved to a great extent in the last few years, and it is getting better every day."
