We’re being cautious that Taimur doesn’t get spoiled, says grandpa Randhir Kapoor

Veteran actor Randhir Kapoor says that becoming a grandfather again has been the most beautiful experience, and that he visits daughter Kareena more often now to spend time with the baby.

At seven months, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi is the apple of the Bollywood paparazzi’s collective eye. His photos keep breaking the Internet, and on every outing, he steals the show from his famous mama and papa, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan. One very recent example was the photo of a swaddled Taimur sleeping on his father’s arm while on his way to a Switzerland trip — the photo went viral in no time. Aware of their little son’s extreme cuteness and the inevitable public interest in him, Saif and Kareena don’t try to hide him from the limelight.

Could all this attention spoil the little fellow? Taimur’s grandfather, veteran actor Randhir Kapoor, would like to tread carefully and ensure that the munchkin stays grounded as he grows up. “We all love Taimur so much and we are very being cautious that he doesn’t get spoiled by all the attention that he’s getting [from the media],” says Randhir.

Besides the photogenic moment on the way to Switzerland, various Taimur sightings include: the time when he accompanied mom Kareena after gym; was spotted outside aunt Karisma’s house; or enjoyed swinging on the balcony at grandmother Babita’s place.

Seventy-year-old Randhir, who has just returned from England after a month’s break, says that becoming a grandfather again has been such a beautiful experience. “Taimur is now seven months old and ever since he was born, I visit Kareena more often than I used to earlier. I love spending time with my grandkids, and Taimur is the youngest, so everyone is so fond of him. He is not cranky, but a bit naughty and, yeah, smart, too,” adds Randhir.

On a chat show, Kareena had said that, “I think [Taimur] looks exactly like my dad.” Even Saif, in an interview, was quoted as saying, “My mother (actor Sharmila Tagore) feels that Taimur looks like Dabooji (as Randhir is fondly called).”

Asked if he agrees that Taimur closely resembles him, Randhir laughs, “Ah! That’s [a] godsend, what can I say about it? Whether it’s his blue eyes or his looks, he definitely has the Kapoor genes.”

Recently, Randhir had hit back at trolls who shamed Kareena for “neglecting” and “abandoning” Taimur while hosting parties and going to the gym. “All I can say is that she is a very good mother and she’s not leaving the child behind, but just being a working mother. There’s nothing wrong in it. [Also] what’s the harm if she goes out for shopping or hits the gym? After all, she has got a life, too,” said Randhir.
