Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi

Bollywood actor Lara Dutta tied the knot with tennis star Mahesh Bhupathi in an intimate Christian ceremony. The couple, who got engaged in September 2010, had a civil wedding in Bandra on February 16. After that, the duo headed to Goa for a more elaborate wedding which took place on February 20 at the sunset point of the Portuguese fort of Aguada in Goa. The two exchanged vows amidst the presence of friends such as tennis stars Leander Paes, Somdev Devvarman and actor Raveena Tandon Thandani, among others. The gorgeous sunset and Goan cuisine marked the highpoints of the couple’s white-themed Goan wedding. Currently, the couple is expecting their first child in February 2012.

Imran Khan and Avantika Malik

Actor Imran Khan married girlfriend of eight years, Avantika Malik, in January. The couple, who got engaged on January 16, 2010, had a private civil ceremony at Imran’s uncle and actor Aamir Khan’s residence in Mumbai’s Pali Hill. This was followed by a reception, hosted by Aamir and his wife Kiran Rao, which was attended by the who’s who of Bollywood.

Actor Samir Soni, who shot to fame as a contestant of Bigg Boss 4, married actor turned-jewellery designer Neelam Kothari soon after he was out from the house. The event at Mumbai’s Taj Lands End was attended by filmmaker Ekta Kapoor, actors Karisma Kapoor and Sohail Khan, among others. The reception bash saw the presence of actors Shah Rukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Rani Mukerji.

Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actor Kalki Koechlin got married in a private wedding ceremony in Ooty. The couple opted for a traditional South Indian early morning wedding which was attended only by close friends and family. The guest list included filmmakers Vikramaditya Motwane, Shahnaab Alam, Piyush Mishra and actor Rahul Bhatt, among others.

Actor Gul Panag married her long-time beau — pilot Rishi Attari — in a hatke style. Right from sporting cool aviators with traditional attire to entering the reception venue in a Royal Enfield with a sidecar, Gul’s wedding at a Gurudwara in Haryana, made many heads turn. The Punjabi wedding was a personal affair with very select guests invited. TV personalities Shruti Seth and Koel Puri, designers Mandira Wirk and Urvashi Kaur were seen at the celebration.

The news of actor Celina Jailty’s wedding to Dubai-based hotelier Peter Haag surprised many. The actor broke the news of her wedding on Twitter almost a month after the ceremony took place. Posting a picture of their wedding, Celina wrote, “With great pleasure I would like to announce my wedding with Peter Haag on the 23rd of last month at a thousand year old monastery in Austria. We seek your blessings and good wishes, and apologise for the delayed announcement due to a family tragedy.” The couple is expecting twins in April, next year.

Actor Sammir Dattani tied the knot with his girlfriend, Ritika Jolly, amidst family and friends at a close ceremony in Dehradun. Later, the couple threw a huge reception for industrywallahs at CCI in Mumbai which saw presence of guests such as actors Sonam Kapoor, Imran Khan, Puneet Malhotra and Manjari Fadnis.

Television actor Anup Soni, who is currently seen on popular television show Balika Vadhu, married actor-turned-politician Raj Babbar’s actor-daughter Juhi in a quiet and close ceremony. The couple had a registered wedding at Juhi’s mother house in Mumbai, after which they left for the Golden Temple at Amritsar to seek divine blessings. Following the visit, the couple celebrated their matrimony by traditional Sikh ceremonies on March 16.

Actor Rajeev Khandelwal tied the nuptial knot with girlfriend Manjiri, who works in an advertising agency, at Jodhpur’s resplendent Khimsar fort, earlier this year. The Arya Samaj wedding was attended only by couple’s close friends and relatives. Reportedly, some of the guests got special tents to rest while others enjoyed royal stay at the fort.

Nikhil Dwivedi and Gaurie Pandit

Actor Nikhil Dwivedi, who has been part of films such as My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves and Shor in the City, married Telugu actor Gaurie Pandit amidst much fanfare. The wedding, that took place at Dwivedi’s Versova home in Mumbai, was attended by family and close friends from Bollywood such as Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Juhi Chawla and Manish Malhotra. The reception, that took place on March 28 at Mumbai’s Escobar, saw the presence of actor Salman Khan and filmmaker Farah Khan, among others.
