Facebook likes might legally be accepted as votes: Sushant Singh Rajput

On the significance of Republic Day: The day reminds us that we have a government of laws, and not of men. So, instead of getting seduced by nepotism, in almost every sector, we need to start respecting deserving candidates. As Maximilien de Robespierre once said, "Wickedness is the root for despotism, as virtue is the essence of the Republic."

On where you see the Republic of India in the next decade or so: It's difficult to even imagine. Our democracy, I feel, will get digitalised and it's going to have a massive impact on our country. The ability of the internet to aggregate opinions instantly is suited to the democratic process, which, at present, is only a power play taking place between a cast of thousands of people, advisors and lobbyists. Who knows, one day, Facebook likes might legally be accepted as votes.

We should work towards equality: Huma Qureshi

On the significance of Republic Day: Republic Day is a day for us to reflect on the state of affairs of our nation, and think about what it means to be an Indian citizen. It is also a time to think about how we can improve the quality of life for all Indian citizens. On where you see the Republic of India in the next decade or so: We should work towards equality for all, a cleaner and greener country, quality education and better healthcare for everyone.

The next few decades will stand for progress: Ayushmann Khurrana

On the significance of Republic Day: On January 26, 1950, our Indian Constitution came into being, making our country an independent republic. I am very proud of our Constitution as it is one of the best in the world. For me, it signifies that the governance or power resides in the hands of each and every citizen.

On where you see the Republic of India in the next decade or so: India is a young country. The average age of our citizens is 27 or 28. And the fact that our generation has the ability to mould and shape our nation gives me immense faith in our future. The next couple of decades will stand for change towards progress, and a bright future for all.

We have a lot of work and introspection to do: Shruti Haasan

On the significance of Republic Day: As we grow older, we don't celebrate Republic Day as we used to. But for me, the memories of Republic Day still include watching the parade, performing plays and singing patriotic songs in school. To me, it's important that we remember to value our country, and to truly follow through with the ideas that form our Constitution, and make us a secular and democratic nation.

On where you see the Republic of India in the next decade or so: I'm not a soothsayer, but I do believe that we have a lot of work and introspection to do as citizens of this country, to ensure that 10 or 20 years later, we continue to uphold the ideals that form the spine of this nation today.

We should concentrate on educating people: Rajkummar Rao

On the significance of Republic Day: Republic Day is a very important day because it is today, many years ago, that we became part of the democratic process. Our democracy will always be our greatest strength as we, as a country, look to find a place among developed nations. For me, the day stands for unity. I remember going for the Republic Day parade with my family. It's great to see people from all strata of society converge and celebrate this day together.

On the significance of Republic Day: Republic Day is a day for us to reflect on the state of affairs of our nation, and think about what it means to be an Indian citizen. It is also a time to think about how we can improve the quality of life for all Indian citizens.

On where you see the Republic of India in the next decade or so: I hope that India becomes a prosperous and secular nation. Most importantly, I hope for peace and harmony. Personally, I also feel that, in the next decade, we should concentrate on educating our people; that would solve most of India's problems.
