Designer Masaba Gupta, actor Vidya Balan and former model Rhea Pillai went for variations of white for Diwali celebrations.

Every year, Diwali sees a pattaka full of colours, with ethnic wear taking over our tablets and Instagram feeds. But this year, B-town’s style consciousness seems to be taken over by the colour, white. We spotted many Bollywood actors at various Diwali bashes wearing it — from actors Parineeti Chopra and Vidya Balan to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and the always-on-point Malaika Arora. Here are those who added some star power, and came out in white on Diwali.

Sonakshi Sinha

Print Play: Sonakshi Sinha attended a Diwali bash in Mumbai in a contemporary lehenga by designer Arpita Mehta. The dewy makeup topped with a pastel pink lip added to the fall-floral festive vibe of the look.

Athiya Shetty

Woven wonder: Athiya Shetty added to the festivities in this Rahul Mishra lehenga that we spotted at the couture week in the Capital back in July. The scalloped dupatta added some fun to the calm, ivory n’ gold look.

Vidya Balan

The sari story: Known for stealing the show with her elegant saris, Vidya Balan kept it celebratory at this Diwali bash. Designed by Gaurang Shah, we do have to admit though, that her bangles were a bit of an overkill.

Sonam Kapoor

Sonam’s trademark: We could have spotted Sonam Kapoor in this Anamika Khanna number from miles off! Loved this trademark Sonam look?

Parineeti Chopra

Pearly whites: Ridhi Mehra’s creation was Parineeti Chopra’s go-to pick for Diwali party. We found the dupatta drape pretty interesting and the embellished blouse, festive perfect. Her pearly smile added to the look.

Swara Bhaskar

Layers of detail : White is not an easy colour to style, however, Swara Bhaskar made her look work by adding gold chand baalis and going for a dark, bold lip to offset her white might. She could have done better with her hair though.
