What do you expect when actors Sonakshi Sinha and Ajay Devgn come to town — well, loads of fun, masti and of course, action! That’s exactly what happened when the duo met the winners of the HT City Stars in The City contest at HT House on Wednesday evening over a free-wheeling chat with Sonal Kalra, national editor, entertainment & lifestyle, Hindustan Times.
Sona and Ajay not only floored the fans with their witty answers but went all out to teach some dance moves from their upcoming release Action Jackson to a bunch of Fever 104 RJs (read pranksters), who had come in the garb of cops! Here are glimpses and excerpts from the event.
The film’s promos have a very Rajinikanth-style look. Or is it actually Prabhudheva style?
I think for the first time, we’ve attempted this so-called Rajinikanth style. It is actually like Samurai action.
Is Ajay quiet on sets, too?
Sonakshi: No, he looks quiet. He gives a strong and silent vibe but he is very chilled out. He cracks jokes on the sets.
If you were granted three wishes, what would they be?
Sonakshi: I want my next three films to be super hits (laughs as the crowd cheers).
What is the secret behind your beautiful skin?
Sonakshi: I think it is just my mom’s good genes.
Ajay, in the song, Gangster Baby, there’s a sequence where you are seen kicking a girl! What is that all about?
Ajay: She is a negative character. And once you watch the film, you’ll understand the context of it all.
There’s often a debate if women have much to do in action films. What’s your take, Sonakshi?
Sonakshi: Well, I look at the script... it is more instinctive. I’ve always liked the genre of action-comedy and romance-action drama kind of films.
Ajay, we’ve heard that you’re directing a movie. Also, what’s the progress with the one you’re producing that will star (your wife) Kajol?
Ajay: My directorial is called Shibhai, and it is an emotional action-drama. Most of the cast is from Hollywood. As for the film with Kajol, well, we’re working on the script. It will start by May or June, next year. (Compiled by Umar Dewani)
