Actors Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Huma Qureshi, who are part of the supernatural flick Ek Thi Daayan have some scary recollections of horror stories related to daayans or witches from their childhood. “Where I grew up, there were all these haunted stories like men travelling alone at night through the jungle and getting their head chopped off. And there were always the sound of water drops and nails scratching on something, the sounds would be like drip-straatch...drip-drip-straatch,” said Kalki, enacting out the horror scene. The actors were in HT House recently.

While it was all bloody and gory in Kalki’s story, Huma had a scary story of a different kind, “In my childhood story, the daayan would always pick up the kids and run away,” she said. Emraan on the other hand had always heard that daayans are hot and sexy. In relation to the film he adds that “there were two forms of dayaans, one who were beautiful, while the other that is the traditional scary one.” And it looks like the script of the movie has been inspired by one of the stories. “There are so many stories, we decided to make the film on one of them,” said Huma.
