Bollywood actress Nafisa alias Jiah Khan committed suicide at her residence in Mumbai's Juhu area, police said on Tuesday. She was 25.

The Britain-born actress was found hanging in her flat in Sagar Sangeet Building in the posh Juhu area of northwest Mumbai around midnight.

The cause of the suicide is not clear yet, police said, adding that autopsy reports were awaited.

JiahNews of her death was first reported by actress Dia Mirza through a social networking site around 1:45 am.


Who was Jiah Khan

# She was born Nafisa and changed her name to Jiah before going back to her birth name.

# Her mother is Rabiya Amin, an actress in the 1980s who was seen in the Tahir Hussain movie Dulha Bikta Hai.

# Jiah made her acting debut in the controversial Ram Gopal Varma's 'Nishabd' where she acted opposite Amitabh Bachchan.

Jiah# Upon its release in March 2007, the film received mixed reviews, but Jiah was noted for her confidence, attitude, and sex appeal.

# She then appeared alongside Aamir Khan in AR Murugadoss's 'Ghajini', the Hindi remake of the director's own Tamil film of the same name.
