All eyes are on the multi-starrer film, Players, to see if it can break the industry's dreaded January Jinx.

The Jinx refers to the fact that for several years, films that released in the first week of January failed at the box office.

The only exception was filmmaker Rajkumar Gupta's No One Killed Jessica, which released in January this year.

Now, trade pundits say that Abass Mustan's remake of the Italian Job, which releases on January 6, may end the jinx once and for all.

"The January Jinx is more because people released bad films at this time. But No One Killed Jessica proved that if the content is good, a film will do well. There's an interesting buzz around Players that'll make people go for it," says film critic Rajeev Masand.

"January is considered jinxed. But, it's about the content of the film, and I think this film will do well," says trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

"Players is an expensive film but not too expensive, I feel it will recover its money," adds Amod Mehra.

The film is backed by a mega star cast - Abhishek Bachchan, Sonam Kapoor, Bipasha Basu, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Omi Vaidya and Sikander Kher and they all have their fingers crossed. "I wasn't aware of any such jinx, I hope Players does well," says Sonam. "I'm sure it will," adds Vaidya.
