Actors and film-makers aren’t restricting themselves to movies these days, and an increasing number of artistes are opening up to dabbling in various mediums such as television or the Internet. Film-maker and actor Farhan Akhtar is among those experimenting with digital entertainment platforms, but he has been doing so as a producer.
When asked if he would ever act in a web series, Farhan says, “All avenues are open, provided something interesting comes my way.”
Indian actors have also been trying their luck overseas as they aim to expand their audience. Ask Farhan if he would be open to working overseas or in a TV series in the West, and he says, “The world has become a connected place; a small place. There are some amazing cultural exchanges going on. There are so many actors and so much talent travelling from here (India) to the West. They are doing some really good work and opening the doors for all of us. So, we should actually be thankful to all of them. Through them, people are realising that India has talent that could be tapped into. So, of course, if something worth doing comes along, I would love to.”
The actor will next be seen in Lucknow Central and The Fakir Of Venice. He is also producing the web series Powerplay that features Richa Chadda and Angad Bedi.
