With his first attempt at a family entertainer, Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana (LSTCK), Anurag Kashyap wants to target the audience in north India. To get the perfect mix of music, he has roped in Punjabi singer-cum-rapper Honey Singh to sing for the film’s soundtrack.
The makers are also planning to get him on board for a guest appearance in the movie. An industry insider says, “The film mainly targets the audiences in Delhi, Punjab and Uttar Pradesh, where Honey Singh is a star. The makers have signed him on for a special Lohri song for the film and they’re in talks with him for a video and guest appearance too.” The insider adds, “Amit Trivedi will write the lyrics and Honey Singh will add his rap parts in the song. It is definitely going to be a huge hit.”
Manish Hariprasad, creative director, Disney UTV, says, “Yes, Honey Singh is indeed part of Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana. He is singing a song titled ‘Kikli’ in the film. Honey Singh is a rage and we are really excited to collaborate with him. Currently the song is being recorded.”
Amit Trivedi is composing music for the film, which will release on November 2.
Barfi! stumps Heroine
Even as Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine lost out at the box office, Anurag Basu’s Barfi! garnered over R100 crore gross collections worldwide.“Normally, the number of shows drop in the second week but it didn’t happen with Barfi!,” says a spokesperson of BIG Cinemas.
Multiplex chain Cinemax is planning to add more shows for Barfi! after it was declared India’s official entry to the 2013 Oscars. “We are going to add at least two shows in every location,” shares Girish Wankhede, Cinemax India Ltd, Mumbai area.
