Anupama Chopra's review: Yeh Jawaani, Hai Deewani

Direction: Ayan Mukerji

Actors: Ranbir Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kalki Koechlin

Rating: ** 1/2 Name this film. A boy and a girl take a life-altering holiday together. She is mousy, studious, bespectacled. She doesn’t drink, smoke and has never been kissed. He is a reckless charmer who flirts outrageously. Love blossoms, for her at least, but they must part and then reunite in the foreground of a big fat Indian wedding.

YJHD is not our life’s documentary, says Ranbir Kapoor
Ahead of the release of their next film, which is co-incidentally a love story, former lovers Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone paid a visit to the HT Café offices for a chat. The actors spoke about their movie, relationship, love for sports and feeling the pressures of promoting their films.

Finally, I am getting a chance to release my film in Russia. I hope that Russia opens up a very big market for Indian cinema. I think Indian film market is growing globally. We have big markets in Brazil, China, Japan and I think Russia coming into the picture would be great for Indian cinema," says Ranbir.

Now, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani goes to Israel after Devdas

The movie’s overseas distributor, Eros International, is expecting it to do great business as Hindi films have a large market there.

Ranbir Kapoor was a reason why Deepika Padukone signed YJHD
