Zila Ghaziabad director Anand Kumar has come up with his new film Desi Kattey featuring Suniel Shetty and Ashutosh Rana in pivotal roles. He gives an insight about the storyline of the film.

"Ashutosh Rana and Suniel Shetty are playing two pillars in the story and how they influence the choices of the protagonists makes the conflict line of it. I don't even have a house in Mumbai, still I have produced this film, so you can imagine the kind of faith I have in this script," says Kumar.

Suniel Shetty, who is playing an ex-Army man in the film, also talked about Desi Kattey and his two-decade long career in Bollywood.

You're in the role of a patron in Desi Kattey.

This interesting journey is about two little boys who are from the Northern part of India where children are forced to work in the business of gun making. These boys become the master of the game and then one day an ex-Army major sees their talent and decides to help them become National level shooting players. My character has quit the Army because he wasn't happy there, but now he wants to realize his dreams through these two little boys.

After spending so many years in the film industry, have you become more careful with your choice of the script?

I am at an age where I need to age gracefully because I believe if you age gracefully, you last longer. No such script impresses me where my character's beliefs are forced on me. 25 years is a long time, so I am enjoying my time. I think Desi Kattey is a perfect combination, it's raw and full of emotions.

Sports have always fetched your attention.

My obsession is sport. I was the face for the Indian Hockey for a long time. I never planned to be an actor as I wanted to be a sportsman.

From a hardcore action hero to an actor with good comic timing, your acting has undergone a shift.

I began with action but now I am happy that I have tried everything that it takes to make a complete actor. I failed a lot once the good films started coming out people started appreciating my work.

Who are your favourite co-stars?

I have had a great rapport with Akshay Kumar. Also with Paresh, Sanju (Sanjay Dutt) and Ajay Devgn. Akshay and I have 80-90 percent success rate. I have also enjoyed working with Raveena, Karisma, Sonali and Tabu.
