In the early seventies, Bollywood’s original oomph girl Zeenat Aman ignited male fantasies in a big way. Pull her out of that era and place her in the midst of the current crop of Bollywood heroes and you’ll be in for some fun. The ageless Zeenat, who redefined the concept of the sex symbol in Hindi movies, shares her list of seven current male stars she would like to be paired with on screen if she were still acting.
Salman Khan: He is the blockbuster superstar now. Who wouldn’t want to star opposite him? He is also a genuine, wonderful human being, a trait I adore. We also have an old family connection.
Abhishek Bachchan: He is and will always be very special to me. Our bond dates back to the time he used to come on the sets of my films. During our outdoor shoots, Abhishek used to scare me in the middle of the night by ringing my doorbell and running away. Recently, he did the same with his wife Aishwarya Rai when he was visiting someone in my building. Only this time, he stood there smiling.
Saif Ali Khan: He is so well bred, well spoken, so elegant and suave, his education and attitude are just so impeccable. And the nawabi aura around him lends him a special appeal. All these together add up to his sex appeal. I like him a lot and his movies too. We are also related. My paternal grandmother and his grandmother are cousins.
Hrithik Roshan: He’s drop dead gorgeous, a great dancer and also impeccable in whatever he does. A mindblowing and exceptional performer, also one of the most dedicated and brilliant actors around.
Ajay Devgn: Ajay brings about a strong masculinity to his characters. His intensity, combined with a rough edge to his character, makes him a brilliant actor. Be it Singham (2011), or Once Upon A time in Mumbaai (2010), he’s a fantastic performer.
Abhay Deol: Abhay is any thinking woman’s sex symbol and I quite like him. He chooses different kinds of roles and makes them so interesting.
Shahid Kapoor: There’s a strong sense of mischief, and naughtiness in him. I find him very cute. He’s also a great dancer, which adds to his appeal.
