Over 210 authors, including two Nobel laureates and seven Booker prize winners, leading national and international bloggers, musicians and screenwriters, all under one roof — the upcoming Jaipur Literary Festival, in its sixth year, promises to be bigger than ever.

The lit fest, to be held from January 21-25 at the Diggi Palace in Jaipur, will see a special focus on writings in Indian languages and those from the US. The activities include book readings, talks, debates, musical performances and workshops. “It is more of a mind fest than a literature festival, because the issues open to literary debate are stimulating,” says author and festival co-organiser, Namita Gokhale.

The line-up includes Nobel Prize winners Orhan Pamuk and JM Coetzee, Patrick French, Candace Bushnell (of Sex and the City fame), Javed Akhtar, Kiran Desai, Mohsin Hamid, Richard Ford, Sheldon Pollock and Vikram Seth, film-maker Anurag Kashyap and several other bestselling Indian-language authors.
