Royal author Andrew Morton, who exposed Princess Diana’s flagging marriage to Prince Charles and his affair with the then Camilla Parker Bowles, is still loathed by royalists for what he did, a new documentary has revealed.
Morton is still a public hate figure and target of abuse, 20 years after writing his controversial bestseller ‘Diana: Her True Story’.
“Andrew got this tsunami of outrage and abuse that hasn’t really stopped,” the Daily Star quoted Publisher Michael O’Mara as saying in the Sky documentary.
Morton had gained late Princess Diana’s confidence through a mutual friend.
“It was risible the attacks, but I’m glad it came out. It helped Diana achieve what she wanted,” he said.
