Shobha Nihalani’s ‘Nine: Curse of the Kalingan’ is a fantasy thriller set in ancient times. The first book of a three-part series, the trilogy is a mix of fact and fiction where history finds its way into the present world and what ensues is the battle between the good and the evil.

Said to be one of the oldest secret societies in the world, Nine was formed by King Ashoka in 3rd century BC and is the inspiration behind the novel, as apparent in the title of this book. The novel makes for an interesting read for those who like reading on society, history and mystery.
