Three unpublished works by American writer J.D. Salinger have been leaked online after showing up in an eBay auction.

The Ocean Full of Bowling Balls, Birthday Boy, and Paula are three short stories that form part of a larger collection unpublished works of Salinger, who led a very private life for more than a half-century and died January 27, 2010.

The stories were uploaded in a PDF file format that appears to have been scanned from an unauthorized book, simply titled Three Stories, the Verge reports.

The book, which reportedly has a barcode and ISBN, had first surfaced in a British eBay listing by an eBay member from Brentford in London.

According to the report, the book sold for just 110 dollars at e-bay auction and the person, who bought it, then proceeded to scan and upload its contents to the members-only torrent site "what.CD".

Until now, the genuine stories had been only available to be read under supervision at Princeton University's Firestone Library and University of Texas' Ransom Center, the report added.
