Harry Potter author JK Rowling has announced that the latest installment in her Cormoran Strike series, Career of Evil, will be released in October this year.
The series follows grizzled ex-military man Cormoran Strike, who, along with his Watson Robin Ellacott, solves crimes in London.
According to Rowling, the third book in the series deals with "what happens to people after they leave the military". According to publishers, however, the novel will begin when "a mysterious package is delivered" to Ellacott that contains a woman's severed leg. This sets into motion a characteristically twisty thriller.
Rowling has found success with the adult audience with first A Casual Vacancy, and then her answer to Sherlock Holmes, the Cormoran Strike series.
She is currently writing a spinoff to the Harry Potter film franchise which is due in November 2016.
Career of Evil is expected to be released on October 20 in the US and October 22 in the UK.
