Superhero Captain America, who was assassinated on the steps of a New York federal courthouse in a recent issue of Marvel comics, will be laid to rest in the new release of the book in America this week.
The comic will feature images of the Captain’s funeral at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC.
Pallbearers Iron Man, the Black Panther, the Fantastic Four's Ben Grimm, and Ms. Marvel will be shown carrying his casket to its final resting place.
After 66 years of battling villains like Adolf Hitler, comic book writer Joseph Loeb decided to put the character to sleep.
He says that he wanted to use Captain America’s demise to help people who have lost their children over the years, relate with.
"So many people have lost their sons and daughters over the years, for the greater good or to cancer or other horrible things,” Contactmusic quotes him as saying.
"I wanted this to be something people would identify with," he adds.
