Highlight Story

As comic books continue to be adapted to film, from

Green Lantern

to

The Avengers

, Marvel will reverse this order by releasing comics based on the original 1982

Tron

movie.

The books will be released before the film

Tron: Legacy

starring Jeff Bridges is released December 17. Also, Marvel Comics'

Tron: The Betrayal

will be released in October. The two-issue miniseries is a prequel, explaining what happened between

Tron

and December's

Tron: Legacy.

The story starts with videogame developer Kevin Flynn, who is in charge of Encom, the world's largest video game company. After building

The Grid

, a digital world filled with living programs, this virtual world needs to be controlled, so Flynn seeks the help of

Tron.

In anticipation of the high-tech adventure film, another Marvel Comics book,

Tron: Movie Adapation #1

, is being written by Peter David (

X-Factor, The Dark Tower

) with art by Mirco Pierfederici (Dark Wolverine) and covers by Olivier Coipel and Salvador Larroca. It arrives in stores November 3

A series of six Tron comics were previously published by SLG, Tron: Ghost in the Machine.
