Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 10-year-old daughter Zuni will soon launch her book, Land of Dreams, a compilation of poems and short stories, published by a Pune-based, Ameya Prakashan Publishers.

Apparently, Zuni’s parents didn’t want her to get too exposed to the media at this age, and neither did the young author want to use her family’s influence to get her work noticed, which is why she decided to launch the book only when the independent publishers approached her.

“We have chosen this book purely on the basis of merit,” says Ulhas Latkar, proprietor, Ameya Prakashan Publishers, who came across a newspaper article on Zuni. “It talked about Vidhu Chopra’s nine-year-old daughter who writes poetry. So we asked Mrs Chopra if we could see more of Zuni’s work.”

“The stories are about the changing world seen through the eyes of a child. This is a starting point for us. We will now look out for more books written by young authors.”

The book will launch on April 1 in the city.
