Chetan Bhagat, who has been constantly tracking Arjun Kapoor’s preparation for his next, Half Girlfriend, a Mohit Suri film based on Bhagat’s book by the same name, is also wrapping up his next novel. The 42-year-old author claims the new book will be from a female perspective.
Slated for a Diwali release, the book will be “female first person”.

After seven bestsellers, this will be Bhagat’s first book from a female point of view. The 2 States novelist, who now-a-days is seen posting snaps from the Half Girlfriend set, also tweeted that being on film-set from start to finish has increased his respect for the filmmakers.
He also said filmmaking requires more “hard work” than writing a book. Directed by Mohit Suri, Half Girlfriend stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor. The film is currently under production.
First time on film set from start to finish. So much hard work!New found respect for filmmakers.Pen & paper so much simpler! #HalfGirlfriend— Chetan Bhagat (@chetan_bhagat) June 27, 2016
The Mohit Suri-directed movie, based on Bhagat’s novel with the same title, stars Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead.
This is not the first time that Bhagat’s book is being adapted for the screen. His previous novels like Five Point Someone, One Night @ the Call Center, The 3 Mistakes of My Life and 2 States: The Story of My Marriage have earlier been adapted into films.
Half Girlfriend is set for a worldwide release on April 28 next year.
