Highlight Story

1. Metallic smokes for the eyes
For the girl who wants to look mysterious

(Mike Marsland/WireImage)

* Create a sheer base on the face and contour with highlighter.

* On your upper eyelids, create smokes with dark grey shadow.

* With a gold glitter eye pencil or metallic gold eye shadow, draw clear eye lines. Go for a silver liner or shadow for a steel grey effect.

* Do the inner corners of your eyelids with a white eyeliner.

* Complete the look with smoky black liner along your lower eyelid. And with volume mascara on upper and lower eyelashes.

2. A very plum pout
For a full-bodied kiss to remember

(AFP)

* Exfoliate your lips for dead skin and apply a lip balm.

* Flatten the outline of your lips using foundation or BB cream to merge the lip line into the skin.

* Take a lip liner in a similar colour or a slightly darker colour than the lipstick and draw your lip shape. Make sure you fill in the entire lip with the liner, including the inside skin too.

* Then apply the lipstick with the help of a lip brush. Check for any spillovers and clean with a cotton bud toward the lip if there’s any.

* Take the foundation you use and sharpen the edges of the lips with it.

3. Dewy cheeks with sheen
For the lady who doesn’t wanna try too hard

* Apply foundation and then dab liquid highlighter along your cheekbones.

* For a non-greasy look, you may use some fine sheen powder instead.

* Put on some matte face powder first to avoid making the dewy look too greasy.

* Another trick is to use some eyeshadow that complements your skin tone to give a subtle sheen and gentle gloss.

* If you want to go the natural way, just dab any light organic oil on your cheeks or any other area that you wish to highlight.

4. 3D art for your nails
Claw your way to attention

* You don’t have to visit a nail parlour for this. First apply primer on the nails and let it dry.

* You can easily buy ready-to-stick on flowers, leaves, butterflies and heart shapes for your nails.

* Pick a tiny flower or any other object with a tweezer and, while the primer is still wet, apply the cut-out on the nail. Gently press to make it stick properly.

* Let your nails dry completely.

* You can add some shimmer over the object and then apply a top coat.

5. Braided buns
To entangle Rapunzel’s prince

* Pull back half your hair, from the crown to the middle of the head.

* Divide it into three sections and braid it loosely.

* Pull out each part of the braid outward and spray the hair.

* Take the remaining hair and pull it to the nape into a ponytail.

* Follow steps 1 to 3 with the ponytail, and bobby pin each section into interesting patterns.
