Highlight Story

Unlike other launches, replete with Bollywood stars, swelling crowds and burly security guards, this one was a chic affair.

Jagat Singh and Sons launched their second store — Chef’s Gateway — that brings to you world-class bakeware and cookware brands under one roof.

The store is a one-stop shop for international brands such as Lodge, Wilton, Nordic Ware, Norpro, a first in city markets.

The store’s owner, Gurvin Singh, who has joined the family says, “The aim to bring such high-end brands to the city was to invoke the master chefs in our city clientele.”

Gurvin adds that customers were on the lookout for a gourmet store where they could buy quality equipments such as pasta machines, mini-dessert stands or something as simple as a fondant imprint in Chandigarh itself.

The store is equipped with basic yet essential items such as cookie-cutters, quaint cupcake stands or Kransekake forms (used to make large-size cakes) in a range of shapes and sizes that are not exactly pocket-friendly, but a good kitchen investment.

We bumped into one such happy customer Mansi Bansal at the store. Mansi, who recently started her venture, Sweetart, says, “A store like this is very convenient for me as it saves me a trip to Delhi for buying up-scale and professional equipments to bake.”

Located right opposite Hamleys Toy Store on the second floor, the store is worth a visit on your next shopping trip to Elante.
