November appears to be a win-win month for both Bollywood filmmakers and movie buffs, with five big budget films up for release.
With a collective worth of around `500 crore, these movies include Hrithik Roshan-starrer Krrish 3 (Nov 1), Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh’s Ram Leela (Nov 15), Kareena Kapoor Khan and Imran Khan- starrer Gori Tere Pyaar Mein (Nov 22), Sunny Deol’s action-packed Singh Saab the Great (Nov 22), and Saif Ali Khan and Sonakshi Sinha’s Bullett Raja (Nov 29).
“The line up of these diverse films is fantastic. With `500 crore riding on them, Bollywood is expected to do great business,” says trade analyst Taran Adarsh. Trade expert Atul Mohan agrees, “One will get to watch different kind of films from different genres. I’m expecting a great run at the box office for all these films.”
Film critic Anupama Chopra says viewers will be spoilt for choice. “There is lot to choose from and that’s what makes the next month exciting.”
Interestingly, unlike in the past few years, there are no big Diwali (which falls on Nov 3 this year) clashes at the box office this year, apparently because filmmakers don’t want their projects to compete with the much- anticipated Krrish 3. “No filmmaker wants to face the clash. That’s why there’s no film releasing even on November 8,” says Mohan.
