Former Indian cricketer-turned politician Navjot Singh Sidhu, who is currently seen as a facilitator in the TV show, Comedy Nights with Kapil, says that he will only promote good comedy. “Honestly, I will only be part of those comedy shows that can be watched by the whole family together. I’m not for double meaning comedies or the kind that a girl can’t enjoy while sitting with her father,” he says.
The 49-year old, who had walked out of the reality show, Bigg Boss, last year due to his political commitments, adds that in today’s taxing times, comedy shows are big stress-busters.
“I believe the happiness that you get by making others laugh can’t be compared with anything else. I know so many people who, after watching comedy shows on TV, realised that they had forgotten how to laugh.
Our show is about beating the stress and having a gala time .... koi gyann nahi hai. It’s a complete stress-buster” Sidhu is all praises for show’s host and producer, stand up comedian Kapil Sharma. “Kapil is a genius.
His comedy is situational and spontaneous and most importantly, it comes from heart. I trust him completely.”
About his future projects, Sidhu, who is know for his quick wit, says, “I believe that life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans. I would be happy to do anything that will make me happy. I do not want to be part of anything that I am not comfortable with.”
