Reality TV shows are a regular feature on our television channels now. But, how many of these reality-show participants or winners do we actually remember?

Commenting on the same, Pradeep Gurung, runner-up, Dance India Dance (DID) Season 3 — in Chandigarh on Thursday to announce the auditions of DID Season 4 — says, “Times have changed now; these participants don’t just vanish after the show. We know of so many people, such as singer Arijit Singh and dancer-turned-actor Punit Pathak, who have made it big from such platforms. Even in the film industry, not everyone is a superstar; there are relatively famous artistes too. However, since the industry is so big, a choreographer’s journey is no cakewalk. But, platforms such as DID make things easier.”

“For me, the show lent an identity, besides of course a certificate and some opportunities to meet the big wigs of the dance world. The rest depends on how you play your cards.”

Films such as ABCD (Any Body Can Dance) and F.A.L.T.U gave a good opportunity to the contestants of DID,” adds Gurung. The auditions for DID Season 4 are scheduled to take place on August 25 at Manav Mangal Smart School, Phase 10, SAS Nagar (9 am to 2 pm).
