We’re all too familiar with this Season-2 winner’s life story, given our penchant for drama. In Chandigarh on Sunday for MasterChef Mela, Shipra Khanna talks to HT City about what she’s been up to after the MasterChef cameras went out.
“The same society that looked down on me for not complying with ‘societal rules’, wanted to know me better after the show. People have been supportive, yes, but after a long, tiresome battle,” says she, before confessing her true love, “My first and last love will remain food. No matter where I come from or where I’m going.”
What’s keeping the pretty Shimla girl busy at the moment is hosting a cookery show, Kitchen Stars Ka Safar, on Star Plus. “It’s an extension of MasterChef India. We get together and cook up what most of us dread trying our hands at.”
Giving into rumours, Shipra also spills the beans on her restaurant plans, “It’s an Indian restaurant and European lounge-cum-café coming up in Delhi by next month, most probably. It’ll be an elaborate menu of my own recipes. Till now, we’ve decided on the name Reeve.”
