Aiming to make doing business easier in India, the government plans to set up a 'corporate call centre' for faster information dissemination and grievance redressal services to companies and other stakeholders.

The corporate affairs ministry is targetting to set up the Corporate
Seva Kendra, as early as September 2013.

According to an internal ministry document, the call centre would provide a wide range of information to stakeholders and answer their queries about corporate filings, information and statutory requirements.

The Corporate Seva Kendra is being set up as part of the ministry's objective to put in place a system for "online delivery of registry-related services with speed, certainty and transparency".

As per an Ease of Doing Business report of the World Bank, India is placed at a low 132nd position among 185 countries. It is also the lowest-ranked country among the four BRIC nations (Brazil, Russia, India and China).
