Sodexo acquires maintenance firm MacLellan India

With an eye on the fast growing facility management solutions space, French firm Sodexo's on-site service solutions arm has acquired maintenance firm MacLellan India. Sodexo India On-site Service Solutions, whose current turnover stands at Rs. 1,000 crore, aims to reach a turnover of around Rs
1,150 crore after the acquisition. The company refused to divulge financial details of the deal.

Sodexo's on-site arm aims to double its revenue by 2015 and the buyout will help it further in accomplishing this target. "This acquisition reinforces Sodexo's clear positioning as an integrated services provider and our growth strategy in India," said Sunil Nayak, CEO, on-site services, Sodexo India.

MacLellan India provides maintenance and facility management services to industries in sectors such as automotive, IT and pharmaceutical as well as industrial parks and office spaces. The company posted Rs. 130 crore in revenues, besides clocking a 20% year-on-year growth in its business last fiscal.

Sodexo is known for meal tickets and rewards services in India. Globally, its rewards segment is quite small and accounts for 4% (about Rs. 5,285 crore) of its global revenue of Rs. 1,60,742 crore.
