What's Thinkers50?

Thinkers50 is a nominations based appraiser of management gurus, scholars, educators, economists and social scientists.
 
It lists out of box management thinkers, strategists writers in their respective degree of influence, contribution and popularity.

It was set up in 2001 by business management researchers Stuart Crainer and Des Dearlov.
 
Nominees come from across the academic spectrum. Once nominated, Crainer and Dearlove sort and post 80 names on the Thinkers50 website and ask readers to address one question: "Who is the most important living management thinker?" Readers select one name from a pull-down menu of Thinkers.

Opinions are also collected by email and mail-in surveys. The Thinkers are then ranked on a 1 - 10 scale using the following criteria:

Originality of ideas

Practicality of ideas

Presentation style

Written communication

Loyalty of followers

Business sense

International outlook

Rigor of research

Impact of Ideas

"Guru" factor

Doubling of tax on debt mutual funds to hit retirees

On Thursday, finance minister Arun Jaitley gave investors and the mutual fund industry a jolt by increasing the long-term capital gains tax on debt mutual funds to 20% from 10%. The definition of long-term has also been changed to 36 months for non-equity MFs from 12 months.
