As early as 2008, the T-Mobile G1 erupted on the scene as the first Android of them all, disrupting the mobile universe. Things changed dramatically. Over the years, we have seen some experiments with Android phones that have worked - and others that really haven't - with the ones that worked
getting better with each passing year. Both small and large screens hit the scene, but for now, it looks like the 5-inch screen has won.

The last few weeks in particular have seen a range of interesting handsets being launched. This week, we discuss three of the latest Android offerings in some detail. They run on processors that can give your laptop a run for its money, have as much RAM as some entry-level PCs, and can do nearly everything from taking pictures to accepting voice commands. For those on the look-out to upgrade their phones, the task just got easier.

Note: All three phones currently run on the Android 4.1. While Sony has shared news that an upgrade to Android 4.2 is round the corner for the Xperia Z, there is no word from LG or HTC of a similar upgrade. And, with what we have seen of the Android 4.2 making us root for the new OS, this is one upgrade to watch out for.
