It will be one of those rare days where executives will hurry into conference halls in swank corporate offices - but not to make presentations on profits and sales. They will cheer the Men in Blue, instead.
For, on March 30, the India-Pakistan World Cup semi-final match at Mohali will rule the corporate world, too.
Both multinationals and domestic companies are granting half-day leave to their employees for Wednesday and allowing those who prefer to stay back to watch the match in office.
Some are offering refreshments, others have asked employees to come dressed in blue to cheer MS Dhoni's men.
"In the second half of the day, we are putting up a giant screen and providing refreshments," Anirudh Dhoot, director, Videocon, said.
"In some of our offices, we have auditoriums where employees can also bring their families and enjoy the match."
Kids-wear manufacturer Liliput has granted half-day leave to its employees, allowing them to rush back home in time for the match.
"We have declared a half-day for the employees to watch the match," said Sanjeev Narula, managing director, Lilliput Kidswear.
Sports goods maker Reebok has put up around 25 giant screens in its Gurgaon office, besides providing 42-inch television sets.
"As a sports brand, we have always supported the game of cricket and this is a chance for us to make our employees live the brand even more," said Sajid Shamim, director, sales and marketing.
"It will be a good way for us to bond with our staff," said Carl Sequeira, marketing head of sports goods major Fila.
The company has asked its employees to come in blue.
"All involved should expect to enjoy a complete stadium-like experience with music, orchestrated Mexican waves and every fan-fare possible," said Naveen Paul, vice-president, marketing, Spice Mobility, where employees can watch the match live in the office auditorium.
