Jubilant FoodWorks Q1 income rises 20%

Jubilant FoodWorks, which operates the Domino’s Pizza and Dunkin’ Donuts chains in India, on Thursday reported a 20.25% year-on-year increase in total income to Rs. 476.8 crore during the April-June quarter of 2014-15 from Rs. 396.5 crore.

Net profit stood at Rs. 27.7 crore during this quarter. The profit is aligned with overall subdued consumption pattern coupled with inflationary impact on costs, opening of new Domino’s Pizza restaurants and development of the Dunkin’ Donuts brand.

“Our industry is consistently developing and we have been able to innovate, evolve and use our arsenal of skills to create a business model that revolves around building deeper connections, crafting authentic brand experiences and most importantly—customer satisfaction,” said Shyam S Bhartia, chairman and Hari S Bhartia, co-chairman Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd in a statement.

The company opened 35 new Domino’s Pizza restaurants during the April-June quarter of the current fiscal.

As on June 30, 2014, the total number of Domino’s Pizza restaurants stood at 761 while the number of Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants stood at 31.
