Marico's Goa plant to be shut down

Marico Limited has decided to shut down its manufacturing facility in Goa, which was engaged in the production and packaging of pure coconut oil.

The company has informed the BSE that the facility is no longer commercially viable because of changes in supply of input material and logistics. Therefore, the plant will be shut down, and preparatory steps are already in motion

The company further states that the workmen at the plant have been offered voluntary retirement facility, which they have accepted.
