Reliance Industries Ltd and Essar Oil, besides state-owned Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) are vying for the 47 petrol pumps offered by Royal Dutch Shell in India. Shell is the only foreign fuel retailer in India and plans to sell off 47 of its
80-odd petrol pumps across the country.
