In a bid to revive the ailing airline, Air India Chairman and Managing Director Arvind Jadhav said on Friday that the company is targeting a turnaround in next 36 months.

Talking to reporters, Jadhav said that steps are being taken to ensure Air India performs well.

Last month, Arvind Jadhav freed all six directors from operational duties. They were asked to fully concentrate on preparing a comprehensive turnaround plan for the ailing airline.

The six directors were to prepare the turnaround plan for submission to the prime minister within 30 days to avail a government bailout package.

The directors included Anup K Srivastava (director personnel), S Chandrasekhar (director finance), Amod Sharma (SBU head-related business), K M Unni, (SBU head-MRO Airframe), V K Sharma (SBU head engineering & components) and Anita Khurana (SBU head cargo).
