Job portal Shine.com, a unit of HT Media Ltd, uses Facebook for hiring, referrals and  job search services and has become a pioneer in the practice. It announced on Tuesday that it had integrated social recruitment platform MyParichay with itself to make it smoother for recruiters tap the energies of candidates present on FB and those who refer them.

What such a platform does is to take a tremendous amount of legwork on the part of a candidate because the software tool is dovetailed with social media sites.

Around 60% of job seekers in India are on FB, a survey by Shine.com has found.

“We are focussing on recruiter needs,” said Amit Garg, business head, Internet business, HT Media Ltd. “This has helped our database cross 1-crore mark and with two lakh job openings on the site. We are the world's first portal to integrate Facebook hiring solutions with mainstream offering.”
