Chairman of Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) Anil Ambani on Wednesday visited the Tihar jail to meet two of the three senior executives of his company who were chargesheeted by CBI in the 2G spectrum scam.

"Anil Ambani came here today to enquire about the well being of the three ADAG senior executives… and to boost their morale, especially since none of them have gotten bail so far," said a jail source, who is not authorised to talk to the media.

Ambani arrived at around 5.30 pm and met ADAG's group MD Gautam Doshi and senior vice president Hari Nair at sub-jail number three's ward eight for around "35 minutes," the source said.

Ambani met Doshi and Nair seven weeks after the duo's were sent to judicial custody on April 20. "He met the two ADAG accused in the deputy jail superintendent's cabin. Jail officials and guards kept the vigil outside the room though, " said the jail source.

Another source, who was around the cabin where the meeting took place, claimed, "Ambani assured the duo that legal efforts were being made to get bail for them."

Ambani could not meet another executive and accused Surendra Pipara as he is currently being treated for his ailments at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Tihar Jail's Law Officer Sunil Gupta said, "After Tihar, Ambani left for AIIMS to meet Surendra Pipara."

Pipara had fainted in court and was taken to Ram Manohar Lohia hospital. The lower court had later directed Tihar officials to ensure his treatment, he was then shifted to AIIMS.

Although, till about 8. 30 pm, the security office at the hospital had no intimation about Ambani's visit, some doctors on duty were told that he would be visiting later in the night.
