Sunil Mittal-promoted Bharti Airtel on Wednesday said it has reported a 20.85 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 2,239.30 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2009.
The telecom major had a net profit of Rs 1,852.90 crore in the same quarter of FY'08 as per the US accounting rules, Bharti Airtel said in a statement.
The company's total revenue rose by 25.65 per cent to Rs 9,824.50 crore in the March quarter, from Rs 7,819.10 crore in the corresponding period in FY'08.
For the financial year ended March 31, Bharti Airtel posted a net profit of Rs 8,469.90 crore, up 26.40 per cent from Rs 6,700.80 crore in the previous fiscal.
The total revenues rose to Rs 36,961.50 crore during FY'09, from Rs 27,025 crore in the year-ago period.
The firm's cash profit from operations rose to Rs 3,788 crore at the end of the March quarter, up 25 per cent from Rs 3,036 crore in the year-ago period.
Shares of Bharti Airtel were trading at Rs 738.60, up 1.78 per cent in the morning trade on the BSE.
