Restaurant franchisee Brand Calculus on Thursday said it has received Rs 16 crore fund from Helion Venture Partners for expanding its network in the country.
The company, which had launched the Canadian fruit and smoothies chain 'Booster Juice' in the country last year, said it will open 20 outlets in the country by the end of this year.
"After the initial success of Booster Juice in Delhi, we launched the brand in Bangalore earlier this year. The funding from Helion will help us to expand rapidly...," Brand Calculus Managing Director Fazle Naqvi said in a statement.
At present, the company has three Booster Juice outlets in India -– two in Bangalore and one in Delhi. "We plan to expand our operations from the current three outlets in Delhi and Bangalore to 20 outlets in three cities by the end of 2009," Naqvi said.
The company also said as a result of the investment Kanwaljit Singh -- Managing Director at Helion Advisors Private Limited, will join the board of Brand Calculus.
Booster Juice is owned by AW Holdings of Canada and offers smoothies comprising fresh juices, sorbet and yogurt among others.
