Edible oils extend gains on seasonal demand, global cues

Select edible oils extended gains for a second week on the wholesale oils and oilseeds market on continued buying by vanaspati millers and retailers to meet the demand for the ongoing marriage season.

In the national capital, groundnut mill delivery oil (Gujarat) gained the most on day-to-day buying activity and added another Rs 200 to Rs 7,100 per quintal, while groundnut solvent refined gained Rs 20 to Rs 1,160-1,170 per tin of 15 litres on mills demand.

Cottonseed mill delivery oil (Haryana) rose by Rs 60 to Rs 4,100 per quintal, while mustard expeller (Dadri)oil attracted buying from local parties and shot up by Rs 120 to Rs 4,670 per quintal.

Mustard pakki and kachi ghani oils too traded in positive zone with a rise of Rs 15 each to Rs 660-815 and Rs 815-915 per tin of 15 litres.
