EGoM to meet today on 2G sale schedule

business Updated: Aug 05, 2012 23:11 IST

A ministerial panel led by finance minister P Chidambaram will meet on Monday to plan a revised schedule for spectrum auction as the government is unlikely to finish the process by August 31 as laid down by the Supreme Court.

“The panel will discuss a revised schedule for spectrum auction," sources in the department of telecom (DoT) said. It is, however, still not clear when the Centre will approach the apex court to seek an extension of the August 31 deadline.

Three companies — Times Internet, National Commodity and Derivative Exchange (NCDEX) and Karnataka State Electronics Development Corporation Limited (KEONICS) — have submitted bids to be selected as auctioneer for the upcoming spectrum sale.
