Esprit launches new collection, to open 35 outlets

Global lifestyle brand Esprit is expanding its product range in India with the introduction of Kidswear and bodywear, including lingerie besides expanding its retail presence.

The US-based apparel major, which entered India in partnership with Aditya Birla Group, will open 35 outlets the end of this fiscal.

"We plan to increase our consumer base by introducing the new lines in kidswear and bodywear, including lingerie," Esprit India, Country Head Manjula Tiwari told PTI.

Globally, womenwear accounts for 60 per cent of Esprit's business, while kidswear make up for about 8-10 per cent of the pie.

The kidswear range is priced between Rs 350-1,500 whereas the women lingerie is priced between Rs 600-3,000, she added.

She said Esprit was planning to open 15 exclusive stores and 10 'doors' (shops inside malls) by the end of this fiscal, and would also add new retail formats in luxurious segment.

Esprit has a partnership with Madura Garments, an arm of Aditya Birla Nuvo group.
