Close on the heels of its partnership with Reliance Industries for a cargo airline venture, aviation entrepreneur Captain Gopinath has now joined hands with the Tata Group for a charter air service.
Tata Steel has entered into a deal with Deccan Charters to run three daily flights between Jamshedpur and Kolkata.
Deccan Charters would start its services next week with daily non-scheduled flights service between Kolkata and Jamshedpur, where the main plant of Tata Steel is located.
The two deals with two of the country’s largest business houses comes in less than four months for Gopinath, founder of the country’s first budget airline Air Deccan that was later sold to Vijay Mallya-run Kingfisher.
Commenting on the deal, with Tata Steel, Gopinath said: “This is another first from Deccan. Over the years, Deccan has made breakthrough innovations that have redefined the paradigms of the aviation industry.
