Hari Bhartia new CII president, Muthuraman is vice-president
Jubilant Organosys Co-Chairman and Managing Director Hari S Bhartia was today elected as President of apex business chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2010-11.
Jubilant Organosys Co-Chairman and Managing Director Hari S Bhartia was on Wednesday elected as President of apex business chamber Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) for 2010-11.
Bhartia succeeds Venu Srinivasan of TVS Motors.
B Muthuraman, the Vice-Chairman of Tata Steel, has been elected Vice-President of the chamber, a CII statement said.
Bhartia, an IIT chemical engineering graduate, was conferred the Distinguished Alumni award by the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
Recently, he was named the 'BioSpectrum - Person of the Year' for 2009. Bhartia is married to Kavita, who is a leading fashion designer and retailer.
Muthuraman, a B.Tech in Metallurgical Engineering from IIT Madras, holds an MBA degree from XLRI Jamshedpur.
He is recipient of several prestigious awards like the Distinguished Alumnus Award of IIT Madras, Tata Gold Medal of the Indian Institute of Metals and the 2009 IIM-JRD Tata Award for ‘Excellence in Corporate Leadership'.
