Hoping to tap the emerging premium motorcycle market, Hero Honda Motors Ltd (HHML) on Wednesday unveiled 150 cc ‘Hunk’ in two variants. While kick-start variant would be available at Rs 55,000, the company would charge a premium of Rs 2,000 for the self-start model.
Hero Honda managing director Pawan Munjal said the company would continue to focus on 100 cc motorcycles. “Our focus on 100 cc stays. We will continue to work in the segment,” he said. Chairman Brijmohan Lall said, “With the launch of the ‘Hunk’, our customers now have a larger variety of high-powered bikes within the Hero Honda stable.”
‘Hunk’ will compete with Bajaj Pulsar and TVS Apache. Hero Honda now has four offerings in the premium segment—CBZ X-treme, Achiever and Karizma.
